Dr Melanie van Rooy spent over two decades in the executive corridors of South Africa's most significant consumer-facing businesses — SABMiller, Massmart, Dis-Chem Pharmacies, and Clicks Group, where she served as Chief Marketing Officer.

Her career sits at the rare intersection of business strategy, brand leadership, analytics, and human insight. With an MBA and a doctorate in Econometrics, she brings a rigour to leadership development that most advisory practices lack — a capacity to see patterns, challenge assumptions, and hold space for the messiness of real leadership transitions.

Through NewPivot, Mel has made her own intentional pivot: from leading organisations to developing the people who lead them. A transition from operational authority to wisdom-based influence — and the foundation of everything this practice stands for.
